NANDI HILLS
Nandi Hills, located 60 kilometres north of Bangalore and 1478 metres above sea level, was Tipu Sultan’s summer home. He and his father Haider Ali transformed the old fort, which had been erected by local feudatory chieftains, into twin forts. Attracted by the area’s pleasant temperature, the British constructed huge homes and landscaped magnificent gardens. They were successful in transforming Nandi Hills into a lovely hill station. Tippu’s Drop is a 60-meter-high cliff with amazing views. Parasailing is a popular adventure activity for those who enjoy the outdoors. On the hill nearby lies the Yoga Nandeeshwara temple.
KAIVARA
This town is linked to the epic Mahabharatha. This was known as Ekchakrapura, and it was here that the Pandavas dwelt in secret exile. One of the Pandava brothers, Bhima, is claimed to have killed the asura (demon) Bakasura, who was torturing mankind. According to legend, a neighbouring cave on the hill holds the body of a demon, which allegedly oozes blood during Shivaratri. Kaivara has a garden complex with gardens and melodic fountains. There are also five panda-themed houses in the garden, as well as a mini-zoo with a herbarium. The Amaranarayana and Bhimeshwara temples, as well as the Yogi Narayana ashram, are all worth seeing.
MUDDENAHALLI
Muddenahalli is a hamlet in Karnataka’s Chikballapur District, 7 kilometres from Chikballapur. M. Visvesvarayya, one of India’s most renowned engineers, was born here. At Muddenahalli, Sathya Sai Grama is the refuge of Institutions of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Trust.
RANGASTHALA
This hamlet on the road from Chikkaballapur to Gouribidanur contains a lovely Vijayanagar style temple of Lord Ranganatha (Vishnu).
BHOGANANDEESHWARA TEMPLE
Rathnavalli of the Bana Dynasty built the Boganandiswara temple in Nandi village in 806 A.D. in the Drawidan style. The temple is well-known for its antique architecture. Sri. Arunachaleswara temple, erected adjacent Boganandiswara temple out of soap stone, is another example of exquisite Ganga, Chola, and Hoysala style architecture
YOGANADISHWARA TEMPLE
The Yoganandishwara temple on Nandhi Hill was built in the Drawidan and Chola styles of architecture. Sri.Krishnadevaraya is reported to have gifted the Dwarapalakas’ idols. According to an inscription on the temple’s outside wall, Sambaji S/o Chatrapathi Shivaji conquered the hill from the Mughal rulers. Another historical site worth viewing is Devaraya’s Veerabhadra temple, which was built about 1397 A.D.

The Skandagiri Hills are home to one of Chickballapur’s oldest and most ancient mutts, the Papagni Mutt.
ADIYOGI SHIVA STATUE( ISHA FOUNDATION )
Situated amidst the calming nature at the foothills of Nandi hills, the statue of Adiyogi Shiva is one of the major attractions of Chikkaballapur. It was constructed by Jaggi Vasudev, also known as Sadhguru, the founder of the Isha Foundation. The location is intended to serve as an important centre for spiritual development.
